Before and after completion of your tattoo, your artist will clean the area with a
broad-spectrum, topical antiseptic that will kill all bacteria. Once you leave the
shop, it will be your responsibility to take the steps to ensure the healthy healing
of your new tattoo.
Healing your new tattoo...
Remove bandage after 1-2 hours. Do not re-bandage. The bandage is for
absorbing any bodily fluids.
Wash your tattoo (preferably with antibacterial soap and cool water). Do not use anything abrasive.
Blot dry with clean paper towel. Do not rub, pat dry. Wash your
tattoo 2-3 times a day until healed.
We recommend sea salt spray for the first two days, as this is very healing. If the spray is used,
apply ointment on the 3rd day and 3-4 times a day after. If using the ointment (and no spray),
apply after first washing and 2-3 times a day after that. When applying ointment to tattoo, ensure
hands are freshly washed. The biggest source of infections is bacteria introduced through hands,
dirty sheets and unclean clothing. Only touch tattoo with CLEAN hands!!!!!!!!
The healing period...
Three to four days into the healing, your tattoo will start flaking. This is normal as the dead skin and some of the ink in that skin will start sloughing off. Do not pick at it. Itching is also normal. This indicates healing. Do not scratch it.
If you develop an infection, please consult your doctor. We do everything in our power to ensure a clean, sterile environment and we have no control over that once you leave the shop.
Do not soak your tattoo (bath, swimming or hot tubs) for 3 weeks. Showers are fine, but don't let the water beat down on it.
Do not expose your new tattoo to the sun for 3 weeks. After that, use sunscreen to protect it from fading.
We carry Tattoo Majik and H2Ocean aftercare products.
